If you run into any problems, please complain

Documentation is provided through the Wiki.

Please note that the nightly source code releases have been discontinued, since EMAN2 is now officially on GitHub: http://github.com/cryoem/eman2

If you see following error message when your run EMAN2 GUI program, please remove the Qt libraries (rm -rf libQt*.so) from your EMAN2/extlib directory: "Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x407**) with this library. (version 0x40703)"

For Ubuntu users, when you run a GUI program like e2workflow.py, if you see error messages like "Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_style_get: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed", please install and run qtconfig-qt4, set the GUI style to motif.

Nightly builds are provided for Mac OS X 10.7/10.8/10.9 "Lion/Mountian Lion/Mavericks". Nightly binaries for Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" and 10.6 "Snow Leopard" have been discontinued.

On Lion/Mountain Lion you may see error messages containing "invalid framebuffer operation". This is due to a bug in OpenGL on the Mac, but is harmless, and can be ignored. It does not indicate any problem.

For Windows user: the 32 bit Windows version works for both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows (but is limited to 2GB images). The 64 bit Windows version is still under development, but should be fully functional except for e2.py.
